February 25, 2025 – VideoLabs, a leading intellectual property licensing platform, today announced the appointment of Eric Lucas as its new President. Mr. Lucas brings a wealth of experience across patent licensing, litigation strategy, and intellectual property monetization, having successfully led complex licensing programs at several leading intellectual property companies.

Mr. Lucas joins VideoLabs from Netlist, where he served as Vice President of Licensing, overseeing litigation and licensing. During his tenure, he successfully directed litigations that resulted in significant patent infringement verdicts, including a $445 million jury verdict against Micron and jury verdicts of $303 million and $118 million against Samsung. Prior to Netlist, Mr. Lucas was Senior Vice President of Licensing and Litigation at Acacia Research Group, where he spearheaded licensing efforts that generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from global technology leaders.

With over 30 years of experience in intellectual property strategy, Mr. Lucas has held senior licensing positions at Motorola, Alcatel-Lucent, and Boeing, in addition to serving as General Counsel and Director of Intellectual Property at Cambridge Display Technology. His expertise spans patent enforcement, strategic licensing, and litigation management across a broad range of industries, including semiconductors, wireless communications, and consumer electronics.
Mr. Lucas holds a Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
